Is it legal to buy Instagram followers?
In the US, buying followers is not illegal in itself. Since October 21, 2024, the FTC rule at 16 CFR 465.8 prohibits buying or selling fake indicators of social media influence, meaning followers, likes or views from bots, fake or hijacked accounts, when the buyer knew or should have known they were fake and they misrepresent influence for a commercial purpose. Instagram's own rules are a separate matter: Meta's spam policy prohibits selling, buying or exchanging engagement such as likes, follows and views, and Instagram says it may remove that engagement and disable or terminate the account.

Does PlayerSells check that the followers arrived?
Yes. PlayerSells reads the follower count on your public profile when you place the order and again after the seller marks it delivered, and your order page shows both readings next to the count the seller reports. The order settles on the seller's delivered count; if the measured gain falls short of it, use Report a problem before the order completes and staff review it while the money stays in escrow.
What do I need to give the seller?
Only the public link to your profile. No seller is ever entitled to your password, login code or email, and the order form has no field for one. A link of the wrong kind is refused at checkout, before any money moves.
What if fewer followers arrive, or some drop later?
The order settles for what was delivered: if 8,000 of 10,000 arrive, the seller is paid for 8,000 and the price of the other 2,000 returns to your wallet in the same step. Drops after completion are covered only by the listing's refill window, if it has one: you request a refill from the order page and the seller has 72 hours to answer; a missed refill is counted on the listing's public record.
