Thompson Square engagement report
@thompsonsquare - 337K followers on X
Measured over 9 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on October 9, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 5 interactions against 337K followers, an engagement rate of 0.002%. Measured over 9 original posts, its engagement rate beats 14% of 21,185 tracked accounts of a similar size. That is a reason to look at how the audience behaves - reply depth, saves, whether the followers are recent - rather than a conclusion about it on its own. Posts are seen about 2.4K times each, and 0.204% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 0.727% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.3 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 23% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Tuesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 9 posts sampled, 33% carry an image or video and 11% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 474 interactions, about 95x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #countryduo, #countrymusic, #couplegoals.

Compared with accounts its own size
Thompson Square's engagement rate beats 14% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 10 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 14% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.002%, Thompson Square sits below the 10th percentile of the 212,741 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the bottom 25% band, which runs below 0.025%.

Posting timing
This account posts most often around 12:00 UTC, and Tuesday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses
Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.
| Format | This account | Catalog effect | 95% interval | Accounts behind it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Image or video | 33% of posts | +111% | +108% to +115% | 34K |
| Outbound link | 11% of posts | -41% | -42% to -40% | 32K |
| Typical length | - | -3% | -3% to -2% | 54K |
- 33% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
- 11% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
- Its average post runs 168 characters, which falls in the 80 - 180 characters band. Across the catalog, posts of 80 to 180 characters run 3% below the same accounts' other posts.
These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

Now on @SouthwestAir A-listers who pay a lot of money to acquire A-List get on the plane last. No room for guitars! Nice work y’all. This is no longer the musicians airline.

Happy birthday to the queen of my double wide trailer. Babe, thank you for bringing so much light to the world through both your music, and just being who you are. The universe is a better place for it. I love you big time. https://t.co/qw2cTfeg88

@Southwest trying to stick it to us again. We have a large merch bag we have flown with for over a decade and never had one issue with “size”. This morning we were warned next time it will cost 200.00. (Mind you, it wasn’t even over weight.) When we started asking questions to find out when the size rules had changed the agent got an attitude and made a huge deal by going to get a supervisor even after we told it was fine we were just curious why our inbound agent didn’t say anything. Its was almost as if she just wanted to beef this morning. With all that being said, since all of your changes every time we have flown we have gotten weird attitude from employees. This kind of treatment is why we started flying southwest exclusively years ago. The customer service WAS always so friendly, understanding and accommodating. What has happened? Did you hire Delta, American and United employees or just adopt those companies culture.

We’d like to send out a special shout out to Micah @SouthwestAir in fresno this morning for trying to keep our guitars off the plane. Even though he was shown the law that states airlines have to allow us to attempt to put them in the overhead. He said “I don’t care about the law” we’re all A list preferred too. This is a great way to treat your highest tier customers. This has never happened in 15 years with SW. Learn your stuff buddy! #powertrip

We’d also like to thank the young flight attendant on this early @SouthwestAir flight #1769 who took it upon herself to call the “supervisor” and explain it to him and that there was plenty of room. Good customer service is not hard it just takes a little effort.

We never had the chance to actually meet Dolly Parton, but we did stand about 10 feet away from her at an event in Nashville very early on in our Thompson Square career. I was so shy, and I wish now that I would have said something to her, but what do you say to such an ICON? Just being in her presence in that room was electric. What a beacon of light she was. Several years later, when it came time for me to design my honky tonk album cover, I wanted it to exude my upbringing and my love of real country music. Dolly’s style and Manuel’s clothing designs were the first things that popped into my head. She was the greatest guide for everything in this business. She truly had it all: talent, looks, business smarts, and loads of personality. We are so lucky to have had her as a beacon and to have been on this planet, breathing the same air as Dolly Parton. Shawna xoxo

- What is Thompson Square's engagement rate on X?
- Thompson Square (@thompsonsquare) has an engagement rate of 0.002%, based on the median interactions across 9 original posts from the last 30 days against 336,782 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.002%, Thompson Square sits below the 10th percentile of the 212,741 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @thompsonsquare have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 14% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts), which puts it in the bottom quarter for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @thompsonsquare post?
- Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Tuesday is its busiest day, at roughly 0.3 posts per day across the measured window.
