A typical post picks up 109 interactions against 2.7M followers, an engagement rate of 0.004%. Measured over 107 original posts, its engagement rate beats 23% of 21,185 tracked accounts of a similar size. That is a reason to look at how the audience behaves - reply depth, saves, whether the followers are recent - rather than a conclusion about it on its own. Posts are seen about 15K times each, and 0.72% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 0.561% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 6 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on almost every day in the window. Most posts go out around 19:00 UTC, and Friday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 107 posts sampled, 47% carry an image or video, 12% are part of a thread and 74% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 51K interactions, about 425x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size

Newt Gingrich's engagement rate beats 23% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 10 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 39% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.004%, Newt Gingrich sits above the 10th percentile of the 212,146 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the bottom 25% band, which runs below 0.025%.

Posting timing

This account posts most often around 19:00 UTC, and Friday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

This account's posting mix compared with catalog-wide effects

  • 47% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
  • 74% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts, so a large share of this account's output sits in the weakest bucket we measure.
  • Its average post runs 276 characters, which falls in the 180 - 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts of 180 to 280 characters match the same accounts' other posts almost exactly.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

Jon Ossoff owes Natalie Harp a personal apology for having smeared her. If a conservative Republican had attacked a liberal Democrat working professional woman the way Ossoff smeared Natalie Harp there would be cries to kick them off the ticket and reject this kind of misogynistic language diminishing and smearing someone who is simply doing their job. But then Ossoff routinely lies as the Jewish leaders in Atlanta pointed out recently and we should accept that he is a profoundly dishonest politician with no sense of honor.

There is something deeply sick about an American legal system which is setting the date for the trial of the terrorist leader of the 9/11 attacks 25 years- a quarter century-after the attack. Congress should profoundly overhaul a Justice system so out of touch with reality.

The United States may be entering the most dangerous period since the defeat at Fredericksburg in 1862. It is clear that our will to survive is declining. The Iranian religious dictatorship continues to chant “death to America” and continues to work on its nuclear program and its missile systems. It is openly allied with Russia, Communist China and North Korea. The. Iranians have been targeting Americans and are openly trying to drive the United States out of the Region. The Democrats have become their allies and consistently vote for surrender when the choice comes up in the Congress. Some Republicans have become tired of the fight and the confusion and would accept a face saving defeat. The American people entered this fight with a clear understanding of what is at stake. According to America’s New Majority Project 55% believe the Iranians really mean it when they say death to America (62% of independents). Nearly two thirds of Americans (64%) believe the nuclear threat is real. The Iranian refusal to negotiate in good faith helps convince 60% that the nuclear threat from Iran is real. In fact 64% of the American people believe that a nuclear armed Iran could target American cities and kill millions. A series of Presidential Oval Office addresses laying out the 47 year history of Iran attacking Americans, killing Americans, supporting terrorist groups to kill American and working consistently to build weapons to bring “death to America” would solidify support for an all out effort to replace the religiously inspired dictatorship which has proven again and again that it can take a tremendous amount of punishment and continue to work toward destroying America. We have to either defeat the Iranian dictatorship or accept a willingness to coexist with Iranian nuclear weapons and missiles capable of destroying our citizens and killing millions. We are at a crossroads and there is not a third choice.

Ukrainians keep showing enormous courage in defending their country against Putin’s immoral and indeed evil efforts to conquer a neighbor. They have resisted now for four years and eight months and we should do all we can to help them.

President Trump is already one of the most consequential presidents in American history. He has taken on the entire left, including its propaganda media, and he is clearly grinding them down and steadily making policy gains that would have been thought impossible a decade ago. https://t.co/3UEAGSGiga

Erick Erickson makes an important point. Some of the Trump administration’s biggest victories are happening quietly. Marco Rubio is using economic pressure to weaken Cuba’s ability to export revolution. Tom Homan and ICE are producing record results. Competence matters. Results matter. And the quiet men are winning. https://t.co/edzl1LWJix

Reading these numbers

A typical post picks up 109 interactions against 2.7M followers, an engagement rate of 0.004%. Measured over 107 original posts, its engagement rate beats 23% of 21,185 tracked accounts of a similar size. That is a reason to look at how the audience behaves - reply depth, saves, whether the followers are recent - rather than a conclusion about it on its own. Posts are seen about 15K times each, and 0.72% of those impressions turn into an interaction. What is Newt Gingrich's engagement rate on X?
Newt Gingrich (@newtgingrich) has an engagement rate of 0.004%, based on the median interactions across 107 original posts from the last 30 days against 2,697,427 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.004%, Newt Gingrich sits above the 10th percentile of the 212,146 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @newtgingrich have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 23% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts), which puts it in the bottom quarter for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @newtgingrich post?
Most posts go out around 19:00 UTC, and Friday is its busiest day, at roughly 6 posts per day across the measured window.
