Early reading. We have captured 4 original posts for this account, below the 8 we require before treating a median as settled. The numbers above describe what we have seen so far, not a finished profile of the account.

A typical post picks up 3.0K interactions against 2.6M followers, an engagement rate of 0.115%. Posts are seen about 102K times each, and 2.95% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 3.88% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.13 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 10% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 16:00 UTC, and Friday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 4 posts sampled, 75% carry an image or video and 75% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 34K interactions, about 11x its own typical post. Only 4 original posts have been captured so far, fewer than the 8 posts we want behind a median before treating it as settled. Read the figures above as an early measurement of this account, not as a finished profile of it.

Engagement rate as a share of followers, across the 212,656 accounts we have scanned enough to measure. The axis is logarithmic, because the top and bottom of this population are about 22,418 times apart and a linear axis would flatten everything below the median into a single point.

Posting timing

This account posts most often around 16:00 UTC, and Friday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

  • 75% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
  • 75% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts, so a large share of this account's output sits in the weakest bucket we measure.
  • Its average post runs 679 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

Bands don’t succeed. Just statistically. So after the surprise indie success of our album Take This To Your Grave, I was sure there was no way but down from there. I was certain we couldn’t possibly match the success we’d had with that album. So I barely bothered considering it as a possibility, I just went in to write and record an album I enjoyed. I told my parents “I swear, just one more semester off and then I’ll go to college.” When “Sugar, We’re Goin Down,” premiered on MTV’s TRL I could tell that I probably wasn’t going to make it to college after all. Happy 20th anniversary to From Under The Cork Tree, the album that changed everything. You turned it into something so much bigger than us, and for that we’re forever grateful. We’re working on some cool things to keep the celebration going later this year, but more on that later. Here’s to the next chapter đŸŒłđŸ–€. Patrick, Pete, Andy, Joe

25 Years Later. A note from Patrick: When you’re young, particular ages tend to come with certain milestones. 15: You can get your learner’s permit. 18: You can buy cigarettes if you want. 21: You can break edge without breaking the law (Andy is still edge!). 25, I’d always heard was the age at which you could rent a car. There was a time when I literally couldn’t imagine a life past the age of 21 let alone filling out paperwork at the Hertz counter. 25 just seemed so big and far away
like a distant body in deep space so remote that scientists only speculated about its existence based on the way objects around it moved. That’s certainly how I felt floating out in the zero gravity that is age 17. That was the year Fall Out Boy started. Now somehow the band is itself car renting age. How?! How am I 42? How is my band 25? And even harder to believe is the fact that anyone still wants to listen to our silly little band 25 years on. Maybe the surreality of it all is part of those milestones. It feels simultaneously so recent and yet so intangibly distant thinking of the origins of the band. I say this in no way to disparage the contributions of the great people we had in early incarnations of Fall Out Boy (Especially Ben and Mike; Hope you guys are doing well) but I always felt like the band really started when Andy finally agreed to join a little band over a year into it. So maybe depending on who you ask the “Ted’s Pants,” band gets to celebrate the car-rental age again some time in the middle of 2028. But until then, I’ll remain shocked that the four of us continue to enjoy working together, continue to be the same four guys this whole time (the so-called “Hiatus,” doesn’t count, we were very much still a band then no matter how exciting it is to imagine otherwise). Yet here we are. And if the world gives me another 25 years and perhaps another 25 after that, hopefully I will have spent as much of it as possible in the band from that one joke in the It’s Sunny/Abbott Elementary crossover. I couldn’t imagine a life past 21; Let’s see what milestones await the band beyond the cold orbit of social security collection eligibility age.

What is Fall Out Boy's engagement rate on X?
Fall Out Boy (@falloutboy) has an engagement rate of 0.115%, based on the median interactions across 4 original posts from the last 30 days against 2,642,145 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.115%, Fall Out Boy sits above the 25th percentile of the 212,656 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @falloutboy have real engagement?
There is not yet enough sample to rank this account against others of its size.
When does @falloutboy post?
