A typical post picks up 509 interactions against 1.2M followers, an engagement rate of 0.043%. Measured over 27 original posts, its engagement rate beats 57% of 21,185 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 19K times each, and 2.72% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 1.60% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.9 post a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 67% of days. Most posts go out around 15:00 UTC, and Tuesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 27 posts sampled, 96% carry an image or video. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 3.4K interactions, about 6.6x its own typical post.

Measured over 27 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on October 28, 2026.

Compared with accounts its own size

President of Zimbabwe's engagement rate beats 57% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 10 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 75% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.043%, President of Zimbabwe sits above the 25th percentile of the 212,567 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.025% to 0.146%.

The sudden and unexpected tragic passing on of Mr and Mrs Chivayo, two crew members and a security aide in a helicopter crash yesterday afternoon left our Nation, my family, and me personally numbed and in deep shock and grief. We are all shattered by this unexpected, sudden demise of so young a family and officers for whom so much promise held. Consummately philanthropic, the Chivayo Family touched so many lives in our Nation through its countless acts of charity and generosity which ran into millions of dollars, and which motivated and transformed countless lives . His generous hand cut across sectors and reached many individuals: in politics, religion, public service, culture, sport and many different professions. The late Wicknell Chivayo had a grand vision for his family, for our country, for the Southern African subregion and for our African continent, in pursuit of which he, in his own way, deepened our programme of engagement and re-engagement, thus raising the Zimbabwean flag high. Indeed, he embodied the Second Republic’s ethos of indigenous enterprise tempered with a human face, an admirable legacy which is sure to inspire a generation. I am personally aware of numerous plans he had for our Nation and our people, principally the less privileged ones and our war veterans, whose social condition he diligently worked to ameliorate. He shared with me some of these grand plans only this last Tuesday after our Cabinet meeting, just a day before his tragic end. Tellingly, the Chivayos lost their lives on their way back from Gandami in rural Chikomba where they were putting up modern family and community structures, all in line with our policy on rural development through investments, industrialization, development and transformation. His vision thus dovetailed with, and located itself within our broad national goals. On behalf of our Nation, my Family and on my behalf, I wish to express my deepest, heartfelt condolences to the Chivayo Family, and to the families of all those lost in yesterday's tragic crash . We mourn with and stand by them in this hour of deep, inconsolable grief and pain. As they go through the motions of this consuming tragedy, may the bereaved families find solace and comfort in the great and distinguished work and service which the dear departed rendered to our Nation, and for which they will continue to be remembered and emulated. May their dear souls be rested eternally.

This morning, I inspected the vaults of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) to personally verify our national gold and ZiG reserves. I am delighted to report that our strategic initiatives to establish a gold-backed foundation for our economy are producing substantial outcomes. Following my directive two years ago to accumulate mineral royalties in physical form, our gold reserves have increased considerably. Presently, Zimbabwe proudly ranks 11th in Africa and 3rd in the SADC region for official gold reserves. These reserves are tangible assets that underpin our monetary sovereignty, rather than mere numbers. With over 4 metric tonnes of gold and foreign currency reserves, our ZiG currency remains fully backed and resilient to global economic shocks. As we progress toward our goal of 5 metric tonnes by year-end, we remain committed to fostering a stable, transparent, and prosperous economy for all Zimbabweans. Collectively, we are laying the groundwork for a robust future.

This evening, senior government officials, and I visited the Chivayo family home in Gletwyn, Harare, to offer our deepest personal condolences following the sudden and tragic passing of Mr. Wicknell Chivayo, his wife Lucy "Lulu" Muteke-Chivayo, and three others. The helicopter accident in rural Marondera on Wednesday afternoon has left our entire nation numbed and in deep shock and grief. Wicknell was a man of grand vision, not just for his family, but for Zimbabwe and the wider African continent. The Chivayo family’s deep patriotism and selfless philanthropy transformed numerous lives across public service, religion, culture, and sport. In this time of national loss, we also mourn the two promising crew members and the dedicated security aide who perished alongside them. During this moment of profound heartbreak, we stand together in unity, compassion, and prayer with the bereaved families. May the Almighty comfort them and grant collective strength to our nation. May their dear souls rest in eternal peace.

Today, Zimbabwe marks a significant diplomatic milestone as the nation has been elected as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, garnering 182 out of 190 votes. This resounding victory underscores the effectiveness of our Engagement and Re-engagement agenda, demonstrating the global community's confidence in Zimbabwe's leadership and commitment to international peace. As we assume our seat on the global stage, Zimbabwe is poised to contribute meaningfully to international peace, security, and multilateral cooperation, championing a fairer and more equitable global order while amplifying Africa's voice. I extend my sincere gratitude to the UN Member States for their support and to our diplomatic team for this outstanding achievement. Zimbabwe is open for business and now plays a pivotal role in shaping global peace. #UNSC #DiplomaticTriumph #EngagementAndReengagement #GlobalPeace #Vision2030

A massive congratulations to our Zimbabwe Sables on an incredible and hard-fought 36–33 victory over Namibia today! Playing our first international match at this historic venue in over two decades, you showed true determination, resilience, and the unmistakable spirit of Zimbabwe. From our clinical execution at the set pieces, precision in the lineouts, to the decisive tactical kicking under pressure, it was a masterful display of rugby. Holding off a fierce comeback to secure this win right at the wire has made the entire nation immensely proud. Thank you to the technical team, the players, and the thousands of fans who came out to lift our boys today. This is a monumental step forward for Zimbabwean rugby. Keep flying the flag high, Sables! The journey continues.

Today, I had the honor of addressing the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly under the theme: "Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation." 🇺🇳🇿🇼 In a world facing intensifying climate shocks and conflict, humanity’s challenges know no borders. No nation can overcome them alone. To restore global trust, international law must be applied universally—not selectively. It cannot be a shield for some and a sword against others. As Zimbabwe prepares to take its seat on the UN Security Council for the 2027-2028 term, we do so guided by our foreign policy: "a friend to all and an enemy to none." Our commitments are clear: :Promoting preventive diplomacy and peaceful conflict resolution. :Strengthening UN ties with the African Union to silence the guns. :Advancing the crucial peace and security agendas for women and youth. True collective security means reforming the Security Council to move past 1945 realities. Africa is united, sovereign, independent, and rising. The outdated "horse and rider" mentality and unilateral coercive measures have no place in modern global discourse. Peace cannot endure without development. Domestically, Zimbabwe is proving what is possible. Through robust reforms, our GDP has grown three-fold since 2017. Zimbabwe is open for business! We are accelerating food security through climate-smart agriculture and leaving no one and no place behind through aggressive rural industrialization. Let us protect the UN Charter, reject selective compliance, and build a fairer, more inclusive world for succeeding generations. I thank you. #UNGA81 #Zimbabwe #Diplomacy #GlobalGovernance #Vision2030 #LeavingNoOneBehind #AfricaRising #UNSC

A proud and spirited performance by our national team tonight at the National Sports Stadium. While the final score did not go our way against the Democratic Republic of Congo, our players gave everything on the pitch and treated us to a genuinely magnificent game of football. They showed exceptional character, skill, and resilience against formidable opponents, proving that our football is moving in the right direction. Defeats are tough, but they are also the foundation of future victories. We stand firmly behind the team and the technical staff as they regroup for the rest of the AFCON qualification campaign. Thank you to the thousands of patriotic fans who filled the stadium and roared until the final whistle. Our journey continues!

I was pleased to receive Her Excellency, Major (Rtd) Jessica Rose Epel Alupo, the Vice President of the Republic of Uganda, who paid a courtesy call on me at the Munhumutapa Building following her arrival in Harare. Vice President Alupo is in Zimbabwe representing my brother, His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who is the current Chairperson of the African Peer Review Forum of Heads of State and Government. During our discussions, we reaffirmed the deep-rooted bilateral relations and shared Pan-African values between Zimbabwe and Uganda. Her presence is a testament to our continent's collective commitment to self-assessment and African solutions to African challenges. Tomorrow, July 16, 2026, we will officially launch Zimbabwe’s Review Report of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) at the New Parliament Building in Mt Hampden. This landmark event marks a significant milestone in our country’s governance trajectory, policy innovations, and socio-economic reforms under the Second Republic.

Reading these numbers

What is President of Zimbabwe's engagement rate on X?
President of Zimbabwe (@edmnangagwa) has an engagement rate of 0.043%, based on the median interactions across 27 original posts from the last 30 days against 1,169,707 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.043%, President of Zimbabwe sits above the 25th percentile of the 212,567 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @edmnangagwa have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 57% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @edmnangagwa post?
Most posts go out around 15:00 UTC, and Tuesday is its busiest day, at roughly 0.9 posts per day across the measured window.
