Kenya Wildlife Service engagement report
@KWSKenya - 535K followers on X
Measured over 51 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on October 15, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 47 interactions against 535K followers, an engagement rate of 0.009%. Measured over 51 original posts, its engagement rate beats 32% of 21,185 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 2.8K times each, and 1.68% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 0.524% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 2.1 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 73% of days. Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Wednesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 51 posts sampled, 100% carry an image or video, 16% are part of a thread and 43% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 1.0K interactions, about 22x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #exploreexperienceconserve, #thisisourwild, #mashujaathematicweek.

Compared with accounts its own size
Kenya Wildlife Service's engagement rate beats 32% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 10 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 61% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.009%, Kenya Wildlife Service sits above the 10th percentile of the 212,741 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the bottom 25% band, which runs below 0.025%.

Posting timing
This account posts most often around 12:00 UTC, and Wednesday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses
Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.
| Format | This account | Catalog effect | 95% interval | Accounts behind it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Image or video | 100% of posts | +111% | +108% to +115% | 34K |
| Outbound link | 43% of posts | -41% | -42% to -40% | 32K |
| Typical length | - | +15% | +14% to +16% | 32K |
- 100% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
- 43% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts, so a large share of this account's output sits in the weakest bucket we measure.
- Its average post runs 639 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.
These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

They raised the alarm, calling for help and setting the rescue in motion. The KWS Rapid Response Team rushed to her aid, spending the night by her side, protecting her and monitoring her condition until help could arrive. The KWS ECA Mobile Vet Unit, led by Dr. Michael Njoroge, set out to reach her. The rugged terrain tested their resolve, but nothing could stop the team from pushing forward with the rescue mission. Upon reaching the site, the team found the elephant exhausted and completely caked in dried mud. The team carefully cleared the mud around her body, secured heavy-duty straps beneath her and coordinated a pull using two Mobile Vet Unit vehicles. After hours of painstaking work, she was finally free. ๐ Behind every successful rescue is a team willing to go the extra mile for wildlife. They keep showing up, keep fighting, and keep giving wildlife a second chance. Double the joy, double the wonder! ๐ Meet Twain, a remarkable 30-year-old elephant from the TC family in Kimana Sanctuary, who has made history by welcoming a set of twins, the sixth recorded set within the Amboseli ecosystem! Born on 7th October, these little ones are already one week old and thriving alongside their extraordinary mother. Twainโs story is a beautiful celebration of natureโs wonders and a powerful reminder of why protecting elephants and their habitats matters. Six sets of twins. One incredible ecosystem. And one remarkable mother. Your next wild adventure starts here. Plan your visit: https://t.co/KjqNRhUYsy #ThisIsOurWild #ExploreExperienceConserve

Wildlife veterinary teams are resilient and so are the animals they care for. They keep fighting and our teams keep showing up for them through every challenge. Palliative care is an important part of wildlife veterinary medicine. It focuses on comfort, dignity and quality of life, especially when an animal is severely weakened or facing a serious health challenge. It can include supportive treatment such as fluids and close monitoring, while veterinary teams continue to assess the animalโs condition and determine the best course of care. This is the care currently being given to a male white rhino at MKWC. Led by Dr. Mukami, the veterinary team has made several attempts to support him. He is very weak, particularly in his forelegs, and has stopped feeding. He is receiving supportive treatment and IV fluids and will be monitored closely. For vet teams, caring for an animal means being there through every stage, doing everything possible to keep it comfortable and give it the best chance. Examination revealed an open wound around her right elbow joint, which was thoroughly cleaned and drained. She was also administered antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medication and multivitamins. Nala recovered well after treatment, drinking water and resting under shade. Her prognosis is good, and she will continue to be monitored. Ni mbaya!! When two male rhinos clash, it is usually about territory, dominance or access to females. With all that weight, power and horn behind them, these fights can get serious very quickly. Deep wounds, broken horns and severe injuries can happen and in extreme cases, the fight can be fatal. - What is Kenya Wildlife Service's engagement rate on X?
- Kenya Wildlife Service (@KWSKenya) has an engagement rate of 0.009%, based on the median interactions across 51 original posts from the last 30 days against 535,462 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.009%, Kenya Wildlife Service sits above the 10th percentile of the 212,741 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @KWSKenya have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 32% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @KWSKenya post?
- Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Wednesday is its busiest day, at roughly 2.1 posts per day across the measured window.
