A typical post picks up 68 interactions against 82K followers, an engagement rate of 0.084%. Measured over 29 original posts, its engagement rate beats 48% of 21,185 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 2.7K times each, and 2.49% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 3.35% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 1.4 post a day over the last 30 days, though only 37% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 20:00 UTC, and Wednesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 29 posts sampled, 14% carry an image or video and 10% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 5.2K interactions, about 76x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size

Jamie Metzl's engagement rate beats 48% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 7 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 67% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.084%, Jamie Metzl sits above the 25th percentile of the 213,004 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.025% to 0.147%.

Engagement rate as a share of followers, across the 213,004 accounts we have scanned enough to measure. The axis is logarithmic, because the top and bottom of this population are about 22,390 times apart and a linear axis would flatten everything below the median into a single point.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

Abdul El-Sayed is entirely unfit to serve in the U.S. Senate, not because of his name or religion, but because of his deeply troubling, anti-American views. I am a Democrat who very much wants our party to regain control of the House and Senate. But embracing toxic bigots like El-Sayed, Darializa Chevalier, and Zohran Mamdani will do far more damage to our party and its electoral prospects than any political advantage we might gain from embracing them.

🇮🇳 Captain Smit Machchhar is a hero. Stabbed in the cockpit, he fought back. The passengers and crew who subdued the terrorist copilot and the passenger/pilots who landed the plane are heroes, too. Their courage saved lives on the Dubai–Tel Aviv flight. They deserve our unlimited gratitude.

Let me get this straight: Donald Trump is sucking up to Kim Jong Un, a brutal dictator who runs one of the world’s most repressive regimes, holds tens of thousands of political prisoners, and has supplied Putin with millions of artillery shells, ballistic missiles, and thousands of troops for his war against Ukraine while the president has essentially declared economic war on Canada, one of America’s closest friends and allies. Canada fought beside us in two world wars, Korea, and Afghanistan; sheltered Americans after 9/11; and helps defend our continent every day through NORAD. Our economies are profoundly intertwined, with nearly $3.5 billion in trade crossing our border every day, supporting millions of jobs and deeply integrated supply chains. And beyond all that, Canadians and Americans are bound together by generations of family, friendship, travel, education, sports, music, movies, books, and a vast shared culture. This is nuts. How did America’s friends become our enemies and our enemies become our friends? Every American should reach out to your elected representatives demanding change and reach out to your Canadian friends to express friendship.

If Abdul El-Sayed cannot completely, unequivocally, and without reservation condemn Hassan Piker, he will not have earned and does not deserve a single vote. I say this as a loyal Democrat who very much wants our party to take control of one or both houses of Congress in the upcoming election.

Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed is a toxic candidate not because of his name, ethnicity, or religion, but because of his own bigoted positions and his deeply troubling affiliations with the DSA and anti-American radicals like Hasan Piker. I say this as a Democrat and a lifelong human rights activist.

It pains me to say this (as a liberal Democrat, human rights advocate, New Yorker, and human being), but Zohran Mamdani continues to position himself as an enemy of the Jewish community of New York City. It is no coincidence that his continually expressed bigotry continues to translate into antisemitic violence perpetrated by his compatriots.

I will say it again: The DSA is an anti-American, antisemitic hate group. Patriotic Americans should condemn and ostracize this group just as we should the KKK and the Proud Boys.

It gives lifelong, loyal Democrats like me no pleasure to say that the DSA is an anti-American hate group. The Democratic Party should neither accommodate nor caucus with the DSA, but instead unequivocally condemn it and appeal to common-sense Americans who love our country and want to build a better future for everyone.

People chanting “Free Palestine” should finish the sentence so we know what they mean. Here’s my suggestion: Free Palestine from Hamas and the terrorists who sacrifice Palestinian lives in pursuit of Israel’s destruction. Free Palestine from Palestinian and Islamic world leaders leaders who have squandered so many historic opportunities for statehood and built their power on perpetual conflict. Free Palestine from Hamas, which committed the October 7 atrocities and built 400 miles of underground fortress for its fighters with almost unlimited food, water, and shelter, while leaving Palestinian civilians exposed to the devastating war that inevitably followed. Free Palestine from the Islamist ideology that glorifies martyrdom and death while robbing children of a future. Free Palestine from Iran’s murderous rulers, who arm and finance terrorist proxies and treat other people’s lives as expendable instruments of their regional ambitions. Free Palestine from this terrible war, and Palestinians and Israelis from the hatred and violence that have scarred generations. Free Palestine from cynical podcasters, social media activists, and media hungry celebrities who exploit the terrible suffering of Palestinians, Israelis, and others to build their brands and line their pockets. Free Palestine from the self-perpetuating cycle of enmity so that Palestinians, Jews, Druze, Christians, and all their neighbors can live side by side in peace, recognizing one another’s histories, deep roots, and equal rights to freedom, dignity, and security.

What is Jamie Metzl's engagement rate on X?
Jamie Metzl (@JamieMetzl) has an engagement rate of 0.084%, based on the median interactions across 29 original posts from the last 30 days against 81,731 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.084%, Jamie Metzl sits above the 25th percentile of the 213,004 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @JamieMetzl have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 48% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @JamieMetzl post?
Most posts go out around 20:00 UTC, and Wednesday is its busiest day, at roughly 1.37 posts per day across the measured window.
