DCI KENYA engagement report
@DCI_Kenya - 2.0M followers on X
Measured over 98 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on October 28, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 130 interactions against 2.0M followers, an engagement rate of 0.006%. Measured over 98 original posts, its engagement rate beats 28% of 21,185 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 50K times each, and 0.258% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 2.52% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 5.3 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on almost every day in the window. Most posts go out around 14:00 UTC, and Tuesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 98 posts sampled, 98% carry an image or video and 29% are part of a thread. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 2.7K interactions, about 21x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #judgementdayishere, #fichuakwadci, #judgmentdayishere.

Compared with accounts its own size
DCI KENYA's engagement rate beats 28% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 10 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 18% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.006%, DCI KENYA sits above the 10th percentile of the 212,146 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the bottom 25% band, which runs below 0.025%.

Formats this account uses
Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.
| Format | This account | Catalog effect | 95% interval | Accounts behind it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Image or video | 98% of posts | +111% | +108% to +115% | 34K |

| Typical length | - | +15% | +14% to +16% | 32K |
- 98% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
- 1% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
- Its average post runs 1511 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.
These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

𝗞𝗜𝗧𝗨𝗜 𝗠𝗖𝗔 𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗡𝗔𝗜𝗥𝗢𝗕𝗜 𝗖𝗕𝗗 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗙𝗧𝗦 A trail of alleged mobile phone thefts in Nairobi’s Central Business District has finally caught up with a sitting Member of the County Assembly (MCA), following his arrest by detectives from Kamukunji Police Station. Acting on actionable intelligence, the detectives swooped on the suspect in Mfangano Street, closing in on a man wanted in connection with a string of reported phone thefts. The suspect, Cyrus Kisavi Musyoka, the sitting MCA for Ikanga/Kyatune Ward in Kitui County, had been on the detectives’ radar over three separate incidents reported in August and September 2026. CCTV footage proved instrumental in the investigations, with detectives positively identifying him in connection with the reported incidents. His arrest has also brought to the fore an outstanding warrant of arrest in a separate case. The MCA is wanted in Criminal Case No. 112/303/2024 after failing to attend court following his release on bond by Makadara Law Courts, where he had been charged with an offence of stealing. The suspect is currently in custody undergoing processing ahead of his arraignment. The DCI reiterates that no one is above the law. Detectives will continue to pursue leads and bring suspects before the courts to answer to criminal conduct, regardless of their position or status in society. #FichuaKwaDCI. 𝗦𝗨𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗜𝗡 𝗕𝗥𝗨𝗧𝗔𝗟 𝗠𝗨𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝗢𝗙 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠 𝗙𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗜𝗡 𝗠𝗢𝗟𝗢 𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗗 A murder suspect who went on the run after the brutal killing of a Form Four student in Molo has been arrested, following a sustained manhunt by detectives. The suspect, Walter Kipkoech, 23, was traced to a hideout in Lagwenda village, Kuresoi North, where detectives from Molo, alongside their counterparts from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) at the Regional Criminal Investigations Headquarters, Rift Valley, smoked him out of his hideout. Kipkoech had reportedly fled immediately after the killing of 18-year-old Joy Wangui, a Form Four student at Molo Secondary School, whose lifeless body was discovered inside a house in Kiambaa area, Moto Location. Her brother, who had briefly left home for a nearby shop, returned to a horrifying scene: his sister lying in a pool of blood in the kitchen, her head severed from the body. The responding detectives found the murder weapon, an axe, a panga and two knives, all bearing bloodstains, near the body. The deceased’s head was later discovered in the corridor, where a message had allegedly been scrawled on the wall using blood: “I love you Joy but never cheat, am sorry.” Preliminary investigations established that Kipkoech was the deceased’s boyfriend, as detectives pursued a possible relationship dispute as the motive for the killing. When the long arm of the law finally caught up with him, Kipkoech was wearing a blood-stained boxer, a white T-shirt bearing the deceased’s name at the hem, and black jeans with visible dry blood stains. The suspect was escorted to Molo Police Station, where he is undergoing processing pending arraignment, as detectives continue with investigations as they piece together the events leading to the horrific killing. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) conveys its deepest condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the late Joy Wangui, whose life was tragically cut short. As the family grieves this devastating loss, the DCI remains resolute in its pursuit of justice and will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that all circumstances surrounding her death are brought to light and that whoever is found responsible faces the full force of the law. #FichuaKwaDCI. 𝗦𝗨𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗡𝗔𝗕𝗕𝗘𝗗 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗛𝟲.𝟳𝗠 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗡𝗟𝗬 𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗢 𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗧 Detectives from the Banking Fraud Investigation Unit (BFIU) have arrested a suspect accused of brazenly spending over Sh6.7 million that was mistakenly credited to his bank account. The suspect, Dickson Yiaile Sitei, was apprehended on Saturday, 24th October 2026, along Lantana Road in the heart of Westlands, Nairobi. It all unfolded on 18th November 2025, when a company was busy processing 74 electronic payments. Among these was a legitimate rent payment of Sh72,000 owed to Sitei for the company’s Suswa shop. But an error during processing led to a monumental blunder: both the rent and a staggering Sh6,744,354 intended for another company found their way into Sitei's bank account. When the company sought to reclaim its funds, Sitei didn’t just acknowledge the windfall; he allegedly spent the excess cash with no remorse. This reckless decision led to a swift investigation, culminating in the case file being forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP). Upon meticulous review, the ODPP instructed that Sitei be charged with the following offences: Intentional Withholding of Erroneously Delivered Payment, in contravention of Section 35 of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, No. 5 of 2018, and Money Laundering, contrary to Section 3(b)(1) as read with Section 16(1)(a) of the Proceeds of Crime and Money Laundering Act, Cap 59A. Currently, Sitei is behind bars, undergoing processing as he awaits arraignment. The DCI warns that money mistakenly credited to your account does not become yours simply because it is within your reach. The law demands its return, and those who deliberately withhold and spend such funds will face the full force of the law.

ARREST OF SUSPECT OVER INCITEMENT OF ETHNIC HATRED Detectives drawn from DCI Buruburu have arrested a 32-year-old man over remarks intended to incite ethnic hatred, hostility and violence against Burundian nationals living and working in Kenya. The suspect, Kevin Odiwuor Otieno, alias Engineer Kevin, was arrested in connection with remarks he made at Jacaranda Grounds in Kayole during a Bunge la Mwananchi event. The remarks were captured on video and subsequently circulated widely on social media, prompting investigations by DCI detectives. Preliminary investigations have established that the utterances were directed at Burundian nationals residing in Kenya and engaged in various economic activities, including employment. Detectives are examining the circumstances and intent behind the remarks as part of investigations into possible offences relating to hate speech and ethnic incitement. The suspect is expected to be charged with hate speech contrary to Section 13(1)(a), as read with Section 62 of the National Cohesion and Integration Act, alongside any other appropriate charges that may arise from the ongoing investigations. He is scheduled to be arraigned in court tomorrow. The DCI reminds members of the public that while freedom of expression is constitutionally protected, it does not extend to hate speech, ethnic incitement or advocacy of violence. Kenya is a diverse nation that is home to people from different ethnic communities and nationalities, including foreign nationals who reside and work in the country. The targeting of individuals or communities on the basis of their nationality or ethnicity, particularly where such conduct is intended to promote hatred, hostility or violence, will not be tolerated. Members of the public are further cautioned against taking the law into their own hands or engaging in acts that could undermine peace and public order. DCI detectives will continue to monitor public and online spaces for content and conduct that threaten national cohesion, public safety and peaceful coexistence. Those found culpable will be dealt with in accordance with the law, without fear or favour. Members of the public are encouraged to report information relating to hate speech, ethnic incitement or any other criminal activity anonymously through the #FichuaKwaDCI DCI toll-free hotline 0800 722 203 or WhatsApp 0709 570 000. | Usiogope!

Measured over 98 original posts, its engagement rate beats 28% of 21,185 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. - What is DCI KENYA's engagement rate on X?
- DCI KENYA (@DCI_Kenya) has an engagement rate of 0.006%, based on the median interactions across 98 original posts from the last 30 days against 1,988,352 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.006%, DCI KENYA sits above the 10th percentile of the 212,146 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @DCI_Kenya have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 28% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @DCI_Kenya post?
- Most posts go out around 14:00 UTC, and Tuesday is its busiest day, at roughly 5.27 posts per day across the measured window.
