A typical post picks up 121 interactions against 188K followers, an engagement rate of 0.064%. Measured over 37 original posts, its engagement rate beats 51% of 21,185 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 8.8K times each, and 1.38% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 4.65% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 3.2 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 47% of days. Most posts go out around 01:00 UTC, and Monday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 37 posts sampled, 97% carry an image or video, 11% are part of a thread and 19% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 444 interactions, about 3.7x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #tnrains, #october2026, #erode.

Compared with accounts its own size

Chennai Rains (COMK)'s engagement rate beats 51% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 9 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 51% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

Engagement rate as a share of followers, across the 214,043 accounts we have scanned enough to measure. The axis is logarithmic, because the top and bottom of this population are about 22,425 times apart and a linear axis would flatten everything below the median into a single point.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

  • Its average post runs 417 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

Monsoon is a word. Northeast Monsoon is an emotion for the weather bloggers of Tamil Nadu. We are possibly 48 to 60 hours away from the onset of NEM 2026 as conditions turn conducive under the influence of the LPA that is likely to form in South Bay soon. The onset phase is likely to favour South TN and Delta but there is a potential banana skin in the form of chance of very heavy rainfall over few places in North Coastal TN / South Coastal AP due to the interaction of lower level Easterlies & Westerly trough. But second fortnight of October promises to provide above normal rains for most parts of the state. https://t.co/CgXG0gqe7R

We are getting nearer to the arrival of Northeast Monsoon. Under the influences of the developing LPA over Southeast Bay trough of Easterlies may gradually start pushing moisture over coastal areas of TN and South AP from later tonight making it conducive for the onset in the next 24 to 48 hours. While today South TN and parts of Delta may see rains including heavy rains in isolated places from tomorrow morning we could possibly see rest of the coastal places including Chennai to gradually come under rains.

A fresh Low Pressure Area is likely to form over North Bay in the next 24 hours and could become a Well Marked Low in the subsequent 24 to 48 hours. The movement across East and subsequently Central India is being picked up differently by Numerical and ML models. This could potentially alter the rainfall impact for Peninsular India including west coast. Meanwhile Coastal TN may see increased thunderstorm activity today with 1 / 2 places between Chennai and Pondy likely to see fairly intense thunderstorms later tonight.

As a fresh cyclonic circulation over the Andaman Sea is likely to become a Low Pressure Area in the next 48 hours afternoon temperatures may continue to remain high over the plains of Tamil Nadu for the next couple of days. As the circulation moves closer to Peninsular East Coast increased rainfall activity is likely over Peninsular India.

First signs of a possible NEM 2026 Onset window as an upper cyclonic circulation currently over Gulf of Thailand is expected to move into SE Bay and become an LPA early next week. Fingers Crossed. Meanwhile parts of South TN along with Kerala and a few pockets in South Coastal Karnataka may continue to be the biggest beneficiaries of rains for the next few days until Easterlies streamline to the east of TN Coast.

The Cyclonic Circulation over Indo China Peninsula is expected to move into Andaman Sea today and become a LPA over South Bay in the next 48 to 60 hours. As it moves further west it is expected to strengthen the Easterlies making conditions conducive for the arrival of NEM 2026. Meanwhile thunderstorms may continue over parts of South TN and South Kerala for the next couple of days. With hottest part of TN now shifting to West TN it effectively confirms the strengthening of the Easterly wind regime a step towards the establishment of Northeast Monsoon season.

What is Chennai Rains (COMK)'s engagement rate on X?
Chennai Rains (COMK) (@ChennaiRains) has an engagement rate of 0.064%, based on the median interactions across 37 original posts from the last 30 days against 188,370 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.064%, Chennai Rains (COMK) sits above the 25th percentile of the 214,043 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @ChennaiRains have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 51% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @ChennaiRains post?
Most posts go out around 01:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day, at roughly 3.2 posts per day across the measured window.
